Bluff City Racing + Autometrics Announce 2020 IMSA Series Team

Memphis, TN. – Bluff City Racing would like to announce that it has partnered with Autometrics Motorsports for the upcoming, 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Cup Challenge Series. Together, the two groups will constitute a highly capable team in terms of, both, driver proficiency and engineering. News of this arrangement was first made known after proprietor Anton Dias Perera took delivery of the team’s new Mercedes AMG GT4, which the team will be running in the 2020 season. With it’s AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing more than 443 ft-lb of torque and over 500 horsepower, the GT4 is well equipped for a competitive field.
Bluff City Racing will be a fresh face in the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Cup Challenge Series. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, the team represents a small percentage of elite race programs originating in the southeast. BCR aims to bring the culture of the city with it into racing, with the hopes of exposing residents of Memphis, and the mid-south as a whole, to motorsport. The team also has plans to integrate it’s racing efforts with those of a national charity, to be named later.
Driving responsibilities for the BCR car will be split amongst three drivers: Anton Dias Perera, Cory Friedman, and Dan Clarke.
Anton Dias Perera has over six years of successful racing experience with the Porsche Club of America racing program. Dan Clarke has sixteen years of experience, comprising of everything from Indycar, NASCAR, and Sports Car races, with a series win in the 2012 ITC Porsche Cayman Series. Cory Friedman is part of the Autometrics Motorsports ownership family; his experience includes multiple PCA Class Championships, as well as wins in the Pirelli World Challenge and the IMSA Grand Sport.
Bluff City Racing’s 2020 schedule starts off with the IMSA Michelin Pilot 4-Hour season opener at Daytona, just over two weeks before returning for the Rolex 24-Hour. From there, the team will travel to Sebring for a 2-Hour preliminary leading up to the Sebring 12-Hour. BCR will also compete in the IMSA GS class events at Mid-Ohio, Road America, Watkins Glen, as well as the Petit Le Mans weekend at Road Atlanta.
